First-time install

Parse is in closed beta and isn’t code-signed yet. Your OS will show a one-time warning. Here’s the fix:

macOS

  1. 1.Open the .dmg, drag Parse into Applications.
  2. 2.Double-click Parse. macOS will say it can’t verify the developer — click Done.
  3. 3.Open System Settings → Privacy & Security. Scroll to the bottom. Click “Open Anyway” next to Parse, enter your password.
  4. 4.Open Parse again — click “Open” in the final dialog. All future launches work normally.

Windows

  1. 1.Run the .exe. SmartScreen may flag it.
  2. 2.Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
  3. 3.Walk through the installer.

Linux

  1. 1.chmod +x Parse-*.AppImage
  2. 2.Double-click or run it from a terminal.
  3. 3.No install needed — it’s portable.

We’ll sign builds before general release. Until then, you can also use Parse in your browser.
